Evangelism module · understand

You don't have a mission · you are the mission

The why, the cost, and the fear that really blocks you. This is not a reassuring read · it is an examination.

The foundationA sending, not an option

Mission is not a Church activity reserved for those who « have the gift ». It is your identity as a disciple. The Risen One does not say « if you have the time »:

« As the Father has sent me, even so I am sending you. »John 20:21 (ESV)

Same verb, same mission: you carry on Christ's sending. His method you know · mingle, show sympathy, serve, win trust, then invite to follow (The Ministry of Healing, p.143). And the Great Commission (Matthew 28:18-20) does not command us to « make converts » but to make disciples · so a relationship, not a tract tossed out in passing.

Remember: you don't have to become a missionary. Through your baptism, you already are one. The only question is the price you are willing to pay.
The cost · that we prefer to keep quietSending costs

« As the Father has sent me » · sent where? To the manger, weariness, being misunderstood, the cross. Being sent is not a reassuring badge: it is a readiness. It disrupts your schedule, it makes you love difficult people, it exposes you to rejection, it changes you before it changes the other.

« If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me. »Luke 9:23 (ESV)

Don't lie to yourself

If witnessing has never cost you anything · not time, not comfort, not pride · it's probably because you haven't done it yet. Comfort and mission don't fit in the same hand. The good news isn't that it's easy; it's that it's worth it.

The misunderstandingYou are a witness, not a lawyer

Many don't dare because they think they must win a case: know everything, prove everything, never get cornered. Wrong role. A witness doesn't plead · he tells what he has seen:

« One thing I do know, that though I was blind, now I see. »John 9:25 (ESV)

You don't need to have an answer to everything · but to be honest about what God has changed in you. « I don't know, let's look into it together » is a fully Christian answer.

The examination · in 2 stagesThe fear you show is not the one that blocks you

We always give a presentable reason not to witness. Choose the one you say out loud · then look at what it often hides.

What makes the cost bearableYou don't carry it alone

The cost is real · but it is not crushing, because it does not rest on your shoulders alone:

It is not your result. « I planted, Apollos watered, but God gave the growth » (1 Corinthians 3:6). You are responsible for sowing with love, not for the harvest.
It is not your strength. « You will receive power… and you will be my witnesses » (Acts 1:8). Power first, witness after. Never alone.
It is not a performance. It is a conversation. No one is grading you. A listening ear, a true word · that is already witnessing.
It is not your scale. God makes it grow fast when He wills: 120 disciples, then 3,000, then 5,000, and « the number of the disciples kept increasing » (Acts 1 to 6). You lay one link; the Spirit makes the chain.
Start in your weakness. The risen Lord did not wait for Peter to be strong: He restored him, then sent him, « feed my sheep » (John 21:15-17). Mission does not require being strong first; it flows from grace received.
CommitName, choose, accept

Reading changes nothing. Commitment does. Three lines · really write them.
